I have served on the Muscogee County Board of Equalization. I served as Chair.
I also served as a member of the Planning Advisory Committee.
I served as a Board member of the Younglife - Young Life, a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school and high school.
I am a sponsor and supporter of COLGAY.
I served Greater Columbus Urban League Board of Directors -
I founded and sponsored a youth football league that targets at-risk youth.
I am the founder and CEO of the Zeph Baker Foundation, a foundation committed to recognizing and supporting students' academic and athletic work.
In 2021 we recognized Scholars and Athletes weekly for their athletic and academic performances.
And I am excited to share that Zeph Baker Foundation is awarding its first two scholarships to students at Spencer and Carver in a couple of weeks. We are working on scholarships for students at each high school.
I am the Founder of the Buy-Back the Block Community Program; a program made up of young Black professionals investing in local projects and properties in South and East Columbus.
I have committed a million dollars to preserve, restore, and develop treasures in our communities. In some cases, these include lots, buildings, and homes bought by slum lords.
Of course, through the Zeph Baker Foundation, we produced and sponsored a Get out the Vote Campaign leading up to the 2020 Elections.
During Black History Month, we produced and sponsored an entire month of Commercials promoting Black History.
- In March, we sponsored a whole month of Women's history commercials raising the communities awareness about the contributions of women. To change the conversation and to inspire deeper thinking on the violence in our community, We produced and sponsored two television Documentaries; there's Nothing Kool About Killing and The American Way.
- We also produced and sponsored Breaking The Code, weekly community issues and answers show hosted by my father, Dr. Wayne Baker. Additionally, through my business, Health Matters, I provide home health care to the elderly, outpatient services, and residential services to the mental health community.
- I provide jobs to do all that we do.
- There is so much more we do and have done.
ZEPH BAKER FULL BIOgraphy
Zeph is a native of Columbus, Georgia. A proud graduate of the legendary Carver High School, Zeph received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Columbus State University. Following his entrepreneurial interests, Zeph's first venture into business began with real estate investment, which, twenty years later, he continues to operate today. Zeph's passion for health and community services led him to open Health Matters, where, under his leadership as CEO, his team of professionals provides home health care to the elderly and outpatient and residential services to the mental health community.
Always looking for ways that he can do more, Zeph has served as a member of the Zoning and Planning Committee and Former Member and Chair of the Board of Equalization. Zeph has served as a Board member of the Younglife - Young Life, a Christian ministry reaching out to middle and high school. He is a dependable sponsor and supporter of COLGAY. Zeph has served as a Greater Columbus Urban League Board of Directors member.
His commitment to our youth has been unmatched; Zeph founded and sponsored a youth athletic league that targets at-risk youth. Consistent with his brand, Zeph founded an academic education center, Teen University. The school employs a nontraditional approach to educating juveniles transitioning from detention centers throughout the state into regular classrooms, ensuring no child is left behind.
In 2021 Zeph founded the Zeph Baker Foundation, a foundation committed to recognizing and supporting students' academic and athletic work. The Zeph Baker Foundation recognized Scholars and Athletes weekly for their athletic and academic performances. As part of his commitment, Zeph has personally committed a million dollars to preserve, restore, and develop treasures in our communities. Sometimes, these include lots, buildings, homes previously bought by absentee landlords, and slum lords.
Additionally, in the 2020 elections, the Zeph Baker Foundation produced and sponsored a Get out the Vote Campaign leading up to the 2020 Elections.Furthermore, Zeph Baker has to his credit the title of Executive Producer attached to several television productions, including Twenty individual commercials aired on weekdays during Black History Month to celebrate our Black History. We celebrated Women's history with 22 Commercials that aired each weekday during March to raise the community's awareness about the contributions of women.
Zeph is the Executive Producer and sole sponsor of Breaking The Code, weekly community issues and answers show hosted by his father, Dr. Wayne Baker. To change the conversation and to inspire deeper thinking on the violence in our community, Zeph served as the Executive Producer and Principal sponsor of two television Documentaries, There's Nothing Kool About Killing and The American Way. Zeph and his lovely Wife LeCai are the proud parents of five children.
